Not much author life

Real life has been exceptionally busy over the last week, and hence my author life suffers.

On the plus side I did manage to do a bit of writing on the wip, just a couple of hundred words, one evening last week. And I've queried Fateful Deception as the rights have now returned to me with a couple of publishers. Fingers crossed!

The proofs and the pudding

This week I'm doing what many writers who have full-time jobs end up doing: having to come home after work and work on checking the proofs for a novel. In my case Perfidy and Perfection which is out at the end of March. I don't think I'll be able to finish them tonight so unfortunately this joyous task is going to spill over into the weekend.

In the oven at the moment is a mixed berry strudle (before you ask - shop bought) and that's my treat for later after I've got through another chapter or so...

Meanwhile it's strange to think that there are thousands of people across the UK and Commonwealth who will have bought and will be enjoying Fateful Deception! (At least I hope they are enjoying it.) I've just finished reading The Marriage Miracle by Liz Fielding. A lovely, really heart-warming romance.

Happy new year!

I'm back after Christmas and two weeks holidaying in Oman. My Regency-set short romance novel Fateful Deception is in the shops this month. More details here at UK Historical Romance blog.

Oman was very interesting - especially as I've not been to the Gulf before, nor ever been in a real desert. I feel as if I've now experienced Arabia - something I've dreamed of doing since being a child. As soon as I've had a chance to upload my photos I'll write-up some more here.

I hope you all had a great Christmas and happy new year for 2006.
